The Give Lively Foundation is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization (tax ID 81-0693451) established in 2016 that serves the public by facilitating charitable gifts to nonprofits across the United States, including donation disbursement for platforms like the Giving Basket. The Give Lively Foundation works in tandem with Give Lively LLC, a tech company that builds practical and easy-to-use fundraising solutions that are free for nonprofits and intuitive for donors. Charity Navigator embraced Give Lively’s secure and intuitive platform to power the Giving Basket. 

Of note: Until spring 2024, Give Lively member nonprofits that received contributions via the Giving Basket had funds sent to them as direct deposits from the Giving Basket. This was reflected in receipts sent to all donors. As of May 17, 2024, to conform with California’s nonprofit governance and delinquency laws, the Give Lively Foundation became the "platform charity" and default recipient entity for all funds donated via the Giving Basket. The Give Lively Foundation then re-grants funds to the charity of a donor’s choosing, per our terms of use. 

In practical terms, this means that donor receipts show tax-deductible “Donations to [nonprofit name], directed through the Give Lively Foundation” with the tax ID of the Give Lively Foundation. Similarly, nonprofits receive Giving Basket contributions as checks or transfers from the Give Lively Foundation.
