Meet: Mike Spadaro, Give Lively Senior Account Manager (Memberships)

What do you do at Give Lively?
I am currently the senior account manager for memberships. I joined Give Lively in May of 2020; it’s hard to believe almost five years have passed! Initially, I started on our customer success team before joining the business development team, which I’ve been part of for the last 4.5 years. There are three main verticals I like to focus on for my job. The first is helping prospects or non-member nonprofits learn more about who we are and how we can be of service. Second, I support our current members to maximize their fundraising potential by leveraging our full product suite. Lastly, I find strategic partnerships that our member nonprofits can benefit from.
What does a day in your life at Give Lively look like?
Like the rest of us at Give Lively, every day is a little different, depending on the season and the type of support nonprofits need at the time. That being said, I typically structure my day in three segments. I spend the first part replying to emails or support cases from the previous night. I also review our pending membership applications and handle any other “clerical” work. The middle of the day is when the majority of my meetings take place. Usually, this involves video calls to respond to current members’ fundraising questions and to offer platform support. A lot of times, I jump on calls with prospects and guide them through our platform. I like to end the day by researching strategic partnerships that our member nonprofits might benefit from, as well as keeping up to date with the latest trends in the nonprofit sector.
What do you like to do outside of Give Lively?
I’m passionate about staying active, living a healthy lifestyle and getting outside. As a resident of Long Island, I frequent the beach in the summertime and explore the East End when the weather is nice. I’m a big fan hiking and discovering new places. I definitely enjoy traveling; last year, I finally made it to Hawaii, which has been on my bucket list for years. We stayed on Oahu and then toured Kauai for a few days. Trying new restaurants and coffee shops is a weekly hobby as well.
Other than that, I love being with my wife, my new baby Skylar and our dog Buster, and spending quality time with family and friends.
What excites you about Give Lively?
I get huge satisfaction being part of a team that enables nonprofits to raise money more effectively and working for a company that truly makes an impact. Building relationships with nonprofits and helping them fulfill their missions has purpose beyond profit, which means a lot to me. Give Lively has established an inclusive culture that supports everyone's well-being; no matter what is going on around us, it’s nice to be surrounded by people who are aligned with trying to make the world a better place.
