Recurring Donations are a feature of the Salesforce Nonprofit Success Pack (NPSP). Recurring Donations provide a means to track gifts that come in at a predictable frequency. There are two versions: Legacy and Enhanced. Salesforce maintains support for both, and likewise, Give Lively supports both versions. NPSP is required to use Recurring Donations. Read more about Recurring Donations here.
If NPSP is installed in your Salesforce org and you connect your organization to Give Lively, follow the steps below to utilize NPSP Recurring Donations in Give Lively’s Salesforce app:
- At the bottom of your data mapping (donations) page in the Give Lively Admin Portal, you will see a checkbox toggle:
- When you check the box and click Save, we will verify that your selected opportunity stage is correctly set. If you have an open stage selected, you will be prompted to choose from a list of closed/won stages.
- Once Recurring Donations support is enabled, the Give Lively for Salesforce app will create and associate Recurring Donations records for donors with active subscriptions. NPSP will then create and associate Opportunity records to each Recurring Donation, including pending Opportunities representing expected future donations. When donations are received, the Opportunity records will be updated with the selected closed stage.
- Please note: at this time, changes to subscriptions in Give Lively are not reflected in synced Recurring Donations records. For example, if the integration creates a Recurring Donation record for a subscription and the donor subsequently cancels the subscription, the Recurring Donation record will not automatically update to show the change.
Note: Installment Opportunity Auto-Creation must be set to “Always Create Next Installment” in order for this feature to work. Administrators may confirm settings by visiting NPSP Settings > Recurring Donations within the Salesforce org. Please refer to this Salesforce article for additional information.
