Meet: Alexandra Lunga-Ceban, Give Lively QA Engineer
From time to time we will profile members of the Give Lively team, revealing more about who we are, what we do and how we fit into a mix of dedicated and dynamic engineers, creatives, strategists and advocates helping nonprofits do more with digital fundraising tools.
Like the person who is the focus of this week’s profile, the full Give Lively team is passionate about using tech for social good and providing a better fundraising experience to nonprofits and donors.

What do you do at Give Lively?
I'm a quality assurance engineer (QA Engineer). When my grandma asked me what my job was, I tried to answer more simply: I'm an inspector who makes sure the new stuff works before it gets to the users. Basically, I'm the last line of defense between you and chaos.
What does a day in your life at Give Lively look like?
My day starts with a review of the previous day's work and unfinished tasks, and setting priorities for the new day. The first half of the day is dedicated to focused work and professional reading. My afternoons are usually packed with meetings and pairing sessions (work with others on the engineering team). I think of it as a game of Tetris, but with tasks and time slots.
What do you like to do outside of Give Lively?
I'm a busy mom, a happy wife and a nature lover. Experiencing nature, feeling the wind on my skin and listening to the birds are what make my life feel complete and grounded. I've recently become a stand-up paddling fan and use every available moment to enjoy time on the board at Lake Jocassee in the northwest of South Carolina. It's my way of walking on water.
What excites you about Give Lively?
Give Lively is the first job where I feel it's more than just a duty. I find deep meaning in my work, seeing how many nonprofits need the services we provide and how valuable all the small and big changes we work on are. Because of Give Lively, I truly believe in human kindness, dedication and cooperation for a better future. Plus, it’s nice to work somewhere that makes you feel like a superhero for nonprofits.
