Meet: Ryan Rodriguez-Veytsman, Give Lively Data Analyst
From time to time we will profile members of the Give Lively team, revealing more about who we are, what we do and how we fit into a mix of dedicated and dynamic engineers, creatives, strategists and advocates helping nonprofits do more with digital fundraising tools.
Like the person who is the focus of this week’s profile, the full Give Lively team is passionate about using tech for social good and providing a better fundraising experience to nonprofits and donors.

What do you do at Give Lively?
I am a data analyst on the engineering team and have been at Give Lively for a little over a year. Anytime people inside Give Lively need any kind of report, metric or dashboard, I am on it. As a company, we try to make sure we are making data-driven decisions and I am the person that gets called on to bring that data to the rest of the team.
What does a day in your life at Give Lively look like?
My day can be broken into four main parts. First, I create queries, meaning that when anyone has questions around product usage, activation and new members, or year-over-year trends, I provide those numbers. Second, I create dashboards, which are charts that stay up to date so we can track how campaigns, widgets, Text-to-Donate and fundraisers are doing all in one place. These dashboards are especially important for tracking donation activities live on Giving Tuesday. Additionally, I create reports, such as financial reports to ensure we are properly keeping track of all the money flowing through Charity Navigator’s Giving Basket. Lastly, I play a large role in our Special Interest Group around Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. Among other things, each month we create a list of our member nonprofits who are working for a specific highlighted cause. For example, organizations working for gender equality might be highlighted during Women’s History Month. We share some of these member nonprofits in social media posts and update articles. We have done this for National Donate Life Month, Alcohol Awareness Month, Jewish American Heritage Month and more.
What do you like to do outside of Give Lively?
Outside of Give Lively, I enjoy painting, going to local art events and occasionally rollerblading. I also really enjoy watching stand-up comedy (and laughing), so I go see comedians perform live a couple of times a year. In addition, I’m reading more these days with mystery being my genre of choice.
What excites you about Give Lively?
I absolutely love working at Give Lively. When I discovered this role, I was so excited to find a company that is mission-driven and prioritizes the needs of its customer base. It feels so good to know that every fix or new feature we produce is helping the nonprofit community make a greater impact. The people that work at Give Lively are all such kind and generous-spirited people, which makes working here a wonderful experience. Everyone is always willing to help overcome obstacles or answer questions.
