GivingTuesday is as a symbolic start to the annual season of giving, a time when generosity and helping those less fortunate are top of mind. In this article, we cover answers to the most common donor questions, as well as when and how to get support from us in the run up to December 3. Because we know how important this Tuesday is for rallying support around the vital work you and other nonprofits do to alleviate suffering and advocate for the socially, economically or otherwise systemically marginalized.

It is, however, just a Tuesday. And like any other Tuesday, whether it be December 3rd or November 5th, considered a win or a loss, the work goes on. The work goes on in national organizations with thousands of members, in 100% volunteer-led local labors of love, in after-school programs, in animal welfare advocacy, in decades-old civil liberties organizations, in star-studded galas, in church basement soup kitchens and on the well-trod paths of 5k fundraisers.

Donor support FAQs

These GivingTuesday Donor FAQs cover everything from payment method errors your donors may encounter to fixes if donors give through the wrong fundraising page, as well as finding missing receipts and editing recurring donations.

Alongside this donor support cheat sheet, we recommend that, just in case, you be practiced at accessing donor data in the Give Lively Nonprofit Admin Portal and canceling recurring donations and/or refunding donations through your Stripe account.

Our preparation

We are also preparing for the GivingTuesday rush.

Our customer support team is standing by with extended hours between now and GivingTuesday:

  • 8am to 8pm ET every business day and 11am to 2pm ET on Sunday until Thanksgiving
  • 10am to 6pm on Black Friday and the Saturday and Sunday before GivingTuesday.

Before our live Give Lively support specialists step in with quick, individualized service, or when they are unavailable, our upgraded Give Lively chat bot is also ready to help.

In addition to our support team hours, our engineers will be ready on Giving Tuesday with their “behind-the-screens” magic from 8am EST to 12am EST (9pm PST).
